The Joslyn Modular Vac-Rupter?/font> Interrupter (MVI) is installed on a disconnect switch to provide load switching, line dropping or parallel switching capability through 230kV capability. The extremely high rate of dielectric recovery of vacuum interrupters enables restrike-free switching of loads of any power factor. Applications include high voltage transmission line switching, capacitor bank switching, shunt reactor bank switching, and cable switching. Switches equipped with MVIs can provide a high degree of pole-to-pole synchronization. MVIs are supplied complete with all mounting hardware for installation on most vertical break disconnect switches of any manufacturer. They re often supplied with Joslyn RF-2 vertical break switches as complete load interrupter switch packages. |
