The Joslyn Motor
Operator (JMO) is a long life, maintenance-free operator for use with
the air disconnect switches. The JMO ensures reliable switch operation
under the most adverse conditions.
The JMO is available with 10,000 or 20,000 inch pound torque output
developed at minimum operating voltages. The JMO can be supplied for
remote or manual operation. Dynamic braking eliminates the need for
mechanical braking.
The output of a ?horsepower series wound motor is converted by a worm
gear housed in a rugged aluminum casting. The enclosure provides space
and access for easy installation wiring. Gears are coated with a solid
lubricant providing for corrosion resistant long life and low temperature
operation. A decoupler system is used to disconnect the vertical operating
pipe and has provisions for padlocking in the open or closed position
while in the disengaged position.
